The project holder
The DRK Berlin South-West social work, counselling and education gGmbH is the project holder.
The DRK Berlin South-West handicap support gGmbH is partner of the DRK Berlin South-West SAAB gGmbH. It supports social projects and services especially in Berlin. The Handicap Support is partner of the DRK local branch Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf e.V. It is an acknowledged supporter of youth projects and a member in the league of charity organisations.
The DRK Berlin South-West social work, counselling and education gGmbH (SABB gGmgH) has a variety of social activities for children, teenagers, adults and older people to offer. Of special importance to all our activities is our idea of intercultural opening.
The work group of the children and youth work of the SABB gGmbH put the project idea »Welcome to Steglitz-Zehlendorf – Dein Kiez mit Respekt« into action. There are also programs dealing with prevention of crime, participation, inclusion and family education that are being organized in this context.
In the context of our network, we have got a lot of interesting contacts with social partners in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, as well as all over Berlin. This includes schools, youth clubs, the children and youth office in different departments of Berlin, social-psychological practices, youth migration support, housing for refugees, counselling for migrants and the youth department of Steglitz-Zehlendorf.
We are part of the network Integration South-West (NIS) and support the political migration processes in the district as a union of organisations. By including these local networks and the communal participants the integrational efforts of all parties in the social surrounding of the teenagers are supported. In addition, public communication about immigration and integration within the district is pushed forward. Last but not least, cultural variety is established in regional awareness.
