Route "Girlsland", No. 1

The only way to get to the Peacock Island is by ferry. There are a lot of peacocks, which explains where the name comes from. There is a palace, which Friedrich Wilhelm II build for his beloved wife more than 200 years ago. It is also something for girls, because a lot about Queen Luise is explained. She had ten children, but only seven survived. They brought up their children themselves; it is not the servants who did it, which was not common for that time. There is an aviary, with hens and white peacocks. There are also a few exotic plants, as banana trees or palm trees. The peacocks walk around freely, you can pick up their plums or buy one in the museum shop.
