Every human-being has the right to look for protection against persecution and seek asylum in another land. Children and teenagers also have that. When they arrive in Berlin without their parents, there are welcomed in the first support structure in Steglitz-Zehlendorf and in Kreuzberg. There are places for 70 young refugees. Refugees get protection there. Each teenager is supported by a guardian, who helps in asylum proceedings and is there to answer questions and helps in case of a problem. Young refugees get medical care and go to kindergarten or to school. They go shopping and cook for themselves as far as they are already able to do so. Young refugees can stay there for three months.

WG-Dialog Bezirk Steglitz/Zehlendorf

The FSD Foundation also offers a communal residence in Steglitz-Zehlendorf for 15 young refugees and young people, who can not stay with their families. The WG
Dialog supports them so that they can live as independently as possible. Here they can do sport, take part in different projects and go on holiday trips.
