BUMF -
Bundesfachverband
unbegleitete minder-
jährige Flüchtlinge
The association was created about 15 years ago and takes care of interests of minor refugees. The association cares about their rights, complain about the irregularities and brings the theme of youth to the general public. Interprets help to make contact with the refugees. They also use pictures to understand the refugees. Minor refugees have special rights and cannot be expelled. Sometimes, the authorities want to know the exact age of the refugees. In order to do that, they make x-rays of their hands, knees, collarbones or jaws. However, these analyses are really imprecise. Minor asylum seekers are supported by a guardian.
